Chamasowa to premiere new poems at Sand Festival
One of Malawi’s finest poets Hudson Chamasowa also named as Mchochombe has confirmed that he will premier six poems from one of his forthcoming albums ‘Kukumbukira a Natembo’ at this years Sand Festival.
The annual music and art festival is scheduled to take place at its usual venue Sunbird Livingstonia Beach Hotel in the Lakeshore District of Salima starting from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th October 2018.
According to the Festival Programme, Chamasowa will take it to the stage on the opening day at exactly 12:30pm.
The poet said the list of poets to be premiered includes Bwenzi Tili Abwana Ife, Akumakwera Za Machinjiri, Nkhanza za M’maganizo, Wokondedwa Alangizi, Zimandinyasa and Tivotere Amisala.
The artist has also confirmed that he will have a double launch of his two brand new albums Kukumbukira a Natembo itself and Ngozi Ya Ku Malavi.
Both albums contains 20 pieces.
Born in February 1987, Chamasowa who hails from Zakengera Village in the the Eastern Region District of Balaka is one of the heavyweights n the poetry industry.
He became famous with hit poets including Abengo, Kulira kwa Mlakatuli, M’badwo Ukubwerawo just to mention afew.
He is a graduate of the University of Malawi, Chancellor College and holds a Bachelors of Arts, Humanities Degree.
