Chapitapasi wants a fresh start at Escom United

As Super League teams are on off-season, some players have started thinking of switching sides by leaving their teams to seek greener pasture.

Mafco FC blossoming defender Oscar Chapitapasi wants to join Blantyre based Escom United.

“After taking a huge amount of thought, I made up my mind to join Escom United, in fact l wanted to join the
team during the second round of the League but due to other problems l failed,” he told Nyasa Times.

“Discussions with the club started way back and lam happy to tell you that my mind now is with Escom,” said, the former Mighty ‘Nyerere’ Wanderers player.

He  also revealed that Blue Eagles officials contacted him to join the Area 30 based out-fit but his mind was with Escom.

Chapitapasi was one of the instrumental players for Mafco last season after leading his side to the finals of the Presidential Cup as a captain.

Chapitapasi also led his side to finish on the second slot in the first round of last season TNM Super League.

“It has been a wonderful season for me at Mafco even though we lost steam at the end of the League,” he said.

He also commended his former coach Temwa Msuku, who has now been shown an exit door,  for his role in shaping him.

Meanwhile, the cool-calm defender is with the Flames in camp in readiness of Chad in an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers match.
