Chez Mtemba hosts ‘Flames Woza Friday’

Ahead of the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier between Malawi and Tunisia, the country’s musicians have teamed up for a morale booster gig in Blantyre where the match will take place this Saturday.

The show, which has been dubbed ‘Flames Woza Friday’, will be at Chez Ntemba night club, one of the hottest entertainment joints in the city on Friday night.

Organized by the newly formed Thambo ‘n’ E entertainment in collaboration with the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), the Flames Woza Friday is expected to feature the Black Missionaries, Skeffa Chimoto, Maskal, Marco Sadik, Biriwiri, Anthony Makondetsa, Nthumwi Piksy and Maziko Band.

Black Missionaries: To perform

“The aim of this [show] is to put the morale of the game and we will give out t-shirts and tickets,” said Mathambo Lowole of Thambo ‘n’ E entertainment.

He went on to call upon fun lovers and Flames supporters to come in their large numbers “because this is a special show for the support of the Flames.”

“The Players will be motivated because they will know all the people are looking forward to winning this important game and they will play with [their] lungs out,” observed Mathambo.

“Everyone, the corporate world, entertainment companies, we all have to show solidarity and be behind our national team.”

After the match on Saturday, all the artists, except The Black Missionaries are expected to perform at an ‘after party’ scheduled for Club XL at Green Corner along the Chikhwawa Road.
