Chief Kaomba weds again at 62

Congratulations to Senior Chief Kaomba of the central tobacco-growing district of Kasungu who once again walked down the aisle on Saturday.

Kaomba, 62, tied the knot with youthful Ireen Morson during a colourful ceremony at Kasungu CCAP.

After exchanging their wedding vow, the pastor who officiated the wedding advised the couple to be faithful to each other and trust in God.

He advised the couple to forgive each other in case of misunderstandings and to resolve their differences in private.

Kaomba a graduate from Chancellor College, University of Malawi with a Bachelors of Education Degree obtained in 1974 is a relation to founding president Kamuzu Banda.

Kamuzu’s confidant Mama Cecilia Tamanda Kadzamira, nephew Ken Kandodo MP attended the wedding.

President Bingu wa Mutharika’s aide, Mai Margaret Chiponda, who was a Kamuzu praise singer, was also at the reception.

Koamba is an influential chewa chief but has been dubbed a bootlicker by many observers for supporting agenda of all the three governments.

He was spearheading the infamous third term bid of former president Bakili Muluzi and he is now touting the presidential candidacy of President Mutharika’s brother, Arthur Peter Mutharika to inherit power in 2014.
