Chief Mbeje laid to rest as Covid-19 death toll rises
The body of Senior Chief Mbenje was laid to rest Wednesday late in the evening at his headquarters in Nsanje after he succumbed to Covid-19.
He was laid to rest amidst weeping and tears of disbelief from hundreds of villagers.
His body was lowered into the grave at 7:03pm
The Senior Chief died of Covid-19 on Wednesday morning in Lilongwe.
He was installed to the position of Traditional Authority on 31 March, 2015.
Senior Chief Mbenje ,who has died at the age of 44, is survived by wife and two children.
