Chilemba accepts Mutharika’s challenge to non-title bout: ‘I’ll kock out Malawi’s President in 10 seconds’
Malawi’s ‘Golden Boy’ Isaac Chilemba has responded to a newspaper on President Peter Mutharika’s light hearted comments that he is fit and well to challenge the boxing icon to a 12-round non title bout.
Mutharika joked about the bout during the news conference last Friday to fend off rumours of his health.
The President said he was in robust health to even give a technical knock out to Chilemba in round three.
But Chilemba has also jokingly responded by accepting the challenge, saying he would take the President for a walk, “catch up then run to the gym for punches” before taking to the ring.
Inthe ring, Chilemba said he would floor Mutharika in ten seconds.
“My President is a busy man, he has a crammed diary and I wouldn’t ket him even last three rounds. I will spare him such agony by knocking him out in under 10 seconds. Otherwise I would have reduced his nine lives to zero,” Chilemba is quoted by The Nation newspaper of Tuesday in his joking comments.
