Chimunthu Banda in car crash, survives

Former Speaker of Parliament Henry Chimunthu Banda escaped death by a whisker when his vehicle overturned when  it failed to negotiate a pothole on the muddled of the road in Mchinji on Friday.

The former speaker  escaped unhurt and went home after the accident.

The accident, which left the minister’s vehicle extensively damaged, occurred in ten afternoon near Kamwendo Trading Centre.

” I thank God for he has saved my life. I feel Ok but will seek medical check up, ” he told Nyasa Times.

Chimunthu  was driving home alone.

Thanks be to God for His intervention. My fellow Malawians, let’s learn to accept that not all accidents that happen to political figures have connections with politics. Accidents can happen to anybody, politician and non-politician alike. Ikamuchitikira munthu iye nkupulumuka, tidzingothokoza Mulungu basi, mbweno, finish. Inu mumafuna imuchitikire ndani?

The problem in Malawi people certify themselves medically fit and they go back home. Every person involved in an accident whether physically looks fit or not must be taken for medical attention and also in the process should have blood or urine taken for alcohol test as some of these accidents are happening due to driving under the influence

Phepani ada chimunthu. Just be careful on those roads. Late ada Banda Alec nearly had a similar fate on the same road.
