Chinese envoy Zhou says ‘zài jiàn’ Malawi

A longest serving Chinese diplomat in Malawi, Zhou Haihong, bade farewell to the country at the end of his tour of duty when a reception in his honour was held in Lilongwe.

Chinese Ambassador to Malawi Pan Hejun said Zhou has served at the China mission in Lilongwe for four years.

Zhou: Goodbye

Zhou said he was saying goodbye (Zia jian –in Chinese) to Malawi a “happy man”.

The Chinese diplomat promised to promote Malawi’s tourism wherever he will be posted.

“There’s no other good place one would have wished for,” said Zhou.

Malawi’s Information Minister Patricia Kaliati hailed the Chinese envoy for his “successful” diplomatic tour of duty in the country.
