Cholera cases in Nsanje rise to six
The number of Cholera cases recorded in Nsanje district has reached six barely two days after Nsanje District Health Office (DHO) confirmed two cases.
Nsanje District Health Office Public Relations Officer (PRO), Felix Simbi said the infected are three people from one family and the other three are their neighbors’ in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mlolo in the district.
“I can confirm that Nsanje district has now recorded new four cases of cholera making it six. All the infected people hail from Tsiliza village in the area of chief Mlolo,” said Simbi.
He said the patients are being treated at isolation camp at Mlolo health post under Trinity Mission Hospital.
Simbi said his office has since intensified door to door cholera prevention awareness campaign to prevent further spread of the disease.
Last year Nsanje district recorded only one cholera case according to Simbi.
