The Civil Servants as they are famously called became the talk of the town after handing current league leaders Mighty Be Forward Wanderers their first defeat (2-1) of the season last week.

Despite their early exit in the Carlsberg Cup after losing 2-1 to Nyasa Big Bullets  recently, Chirwa said they have instilled discipline and hard working spirit amongst the players.

“We have a very disciplined squad and there is togetherness in the team both on and off the field and this is what is giving us the confidence that we can do better and push on the log table” said Chirwa.

He also revealed that the combination of experienced and inexperienced players in the team has now taken shape and teams should expect fireworks whenever they fave his troops.

As one way of maintaining their rhythm, Chirwa dsiclosed that they will be heading to the Lakeshore District of Salima this weekend to play a friendly game since they have been rested in the League fby the Super League of Malawi (Sulom).

Civil Sporting is currently tied on position 10 of the 16 member log table with 14 points alongside City Rivals Silver Strikers who are far much better than the Servants due to a superior goal difference.

Wanderers remain on the driving seat with 22 points from nine games while Premier Bet Wizard and Moyale Barracks come second and third respectively with a tie on 18 points but Moyale have a better goal difference.

Dwangwa United, Blantyre United and Chitipa United remains at the bottom three.
