Coach Mpulula linked with move to Tigers

Former Escom United and Blantyre United coach has been linked with a return move to Azam Tigers to beef up the technical panel.
Azam Tigers outspoken Technical Director Robin Alufandika confirmed the development but kept details of the deal close to his chest.
But he hinted that the team would like to have a strong team in the technical panel.
Mpulula, whose down-to-earth philosophy of his work, has often times made him controversial, joined Tigers players and officials laying wreath on the tomb of team manager Sammy Ngwira who was laid to rest on Tuesday.
“This is our man I know how to handle,” Alufandika said. “The death of Sammy Ngwira is a blow because our plan is to have a good technical panel.”
However sources close to the outspoken and tough talking coach said he would like to have his role well defined.
“It seems he doesnt like to work under Gerald Phiri because he feels could do better.”
Mpulula left Tigers four years after his noncompromising attitude drove the team to lower league when he banished key players such as Mike Kaziputa under the guise of rebuilding exercise.
Mpulula also coached Epac United and took charge of Malawi’s flagship league debutants Max Bullets but left under controversial circumstances before the season kicked off.
