Covid-19 patient accuses Malawi government of faking his illness
A suspected Covid-19 patient in Nkhotakota District has accused Malawi government through the Ministry of Health (MoH) of faking his illness.
The 26-year-old patient whom the Malawi government claimed he was
diagonised with the virus on April 11 2020 claim he has no any symptom of the virus.
“I feel that government has faked my illness for its own reasons. I have never fallen sick since they said I have the virus. I have suffered humiliation because of the fake Covid-19 results”, the patient said in quotes reported by The Nation newspaper of April 23, 2020.
The father of the suspected patient told the daily that the family has been receiving death threat because of the virus.
“Some community members have been planing to torch my house. Life has become unbearable. We just want an independent expert to do his own test,” he said.
The family further suspects the process government is undertaking while diagonising Coronavirus is questionable.
“They collected samples on April 10, promising that the results would be out by April 14. But we were surprised to see them coming the following day saying the results turned positive. This was contradicting their initial remarks. My son is okay and able to do his farm work. We just want to know about his alleged illness,” said the father.
So far, the country has 33 registered cases of Covid-19 with five more cases confirmed in the Capital Lilongwe.

Why after testing this guy the government did not quarantine him?Malawi doctors are being paid to lie to the world about this coronavirus, so that money should come into the country in big figures and share amongst themselves, dishonesty people should not handle this issue the same with MEC commissioners should not handle the presidential election.

You don’t know even who was supposed to quarantine this guy, this means he didn’t test positive. In other Countries those who are positive, can not even be at home, the person has to be taken by the Government for treatment, I’m wondering it is only in Malawi where the family has to quarantine the positive person, I mean mutu ukumawawa ndi umbuli tikuchita kuno kwathu. Ndipo ndiwe galu kobasi.
Listen, this guy if he was positive, he was supposed to be under treatment! Treating the symptoms since the actual virus doesn’t have Medication.
Just a minute. Where did Malawi get their test kits from? If it’s from China yiu can expect them to give fake results. In India they were over 90% wrong! The entire batch had to be thrown out.

I think this guy doesn’t deserve all the bad names we are calling him. We need to give enough information to our patients and Ofcourse the general public about this new disease. Lack of information is not being stupid or dumb as other semi educated people are calling him here. Infact those who were supposed to provide the information are the ones to blame and deserve some of the adjectives we are using here.

Malawi gets funding and has different partners helping in this fight. Just because you are in S.A does not mean it is the epitome or standard for everyone. Some of the kits are from countries like Denmark. Stop spewing nonsense.

Were they advised of isolation?
Any follow up with his contacts?
