Criminal gangs kill fisherman in Mangochi

Malawi Police in Mangochi are hunting for some unidentified criminals suspecting them to have killed a fisherman at Chiphole fishing dock in Makanjira.

Mangochi Police Station Public Relations Officer, Inspector Rodrick Maida said the man identified as Dickson Chinseu who earned a living through fishing in the area went missing on Wednesday, July 20 only to be found dead the following day.

“He was discovered dead in the morning of the following day he went missing. He had multiple wounds in the neck and his private parts were also removed,” alleged Maida.

Maida added that the police visited the area of the crime where the private parts were found some 10 metres from the spot where the dead body was.

He added that postmortem conducted at Lulanga Health Centre established that death was as a result of profuse loss of blood.

“Our investigations are still underway to bring the culprits to book,” the police publicist assured.

According to Maida, Chinseu, 45, hailed from Mambo Village in the area of Sub Traditional Authority Lulanga in the district.
