Dangoman’s new album ‘One Love’ enjoying Malawian radio airwaves
Malawian musician Dangoman has released his third album, this one in reggae dominated style produced with the help of Malawian reggae guru Anjiru Fumulani of the famous reggae band, Black Missionaries.
The album’s track, ‘Nzeru’, is enjoying Malawian radio airwaves on demand by listeners together with ‘Chetechete’ and ‘Wankulu’.
The other tracks are ‘Ukwati Woyera’, ‘Zachikondi’, ‘Nthawi’, ‘Kufuna Kwanu Kuchitidwe’, ‘Mau’, ‘Titanthuzireni’ and the album’s sound track ‘One Love’.
“The songs are gospel oriented secular and one song is about love in a slow beat,” said Dangoman, whose real name is Francis Kadango.
This is his third album — the first was ‘Ndilinanu’ that had the hit ‘Mangabuleki’ and the second was ‘Masopatsogolo’.
“’The album ‘Masopatsogolo’ did not go well [on the market] but this ‘One love’ will redirect it,” he said.
This is his second week of publicity and he says the launch of the album is expected soon where he also wants to re-launch his career.
Anjiru is his sponsor while the album was produced by Amos Mlolowa at Active A Productions in Ndirande, Blantyre which also recorded the Black Missionaries’ Kuimba 10.
Dangoman interest in music started way back when he was studying at St. Paul The Apostle Seminary where he was playing drums for their school band, SPAS, which has also produced Malawi’s music maestro Lucius Banda.
“I have performed with Lucius’ Zembani Band as well with Maloto Vibes and Alleluya Band. Music is a calling to me and I have been encouraged by the responses from the public and other music gurus like Lucius and the legend Paul Banda.
