Dark Virtue drops ‘Talk is cheap’ visuals
As promised, rapper Dark Virtue finally dropped music video for “Talk is cheap” off his forthcoming album “Hungry”.
The song which features legendary rapper Third Eye was released on Sunday, 11 December.
In a typical Hip Hop fashion, the video depicts some of the 9 Hip Hop elements such as Mcing, Djing and Dressing.
In an interview on Monday, Dark Virtue said the video talks about fake personas that rappers portray in their songs hence they kept it real and the video is raw.
The hook goes:” You can say my dress code is wrecked but you can’t say I don’t spit flames/You can say am on a low budget but am way too hard for these lames/You can say I rap too loud but I aint playing games/You should know that talk is cheap my yuth, it’s good to see that you can afford it/Talk is cheap my brother, it’s good to see you can afford it”
Third Eye comes on the second verse rapping about his career and how he lost friends for changing his dress code.
On last verse, Dark Virtue comes out with guns blazing to address the fakes with the opening lines: “Too many artists pay 10gs for a session, give them a microphone they give us false information/it’s more fiction than sci-fi movies…”
The video was shot and directed by Essim of Animal Lab.
