Nigerian musician Davido took it to his Twitter page to announce to his fans of his impending visit to Malawi and the Beautify Malawi Trust (Beam) have confirmed that the music star arrives on Thursday to hold discussions with Beam founder and First Lady Gertrude Mutharika.
“Malawi in a few days,” tweeted the ‘See Gobe’ star this week.
Beam’s vice chairperson Collins Magalasi said Davido is coming to Malawi “as the international ambassador” of the initiative which has also roped the services of the multiple award winning artist as its international ambassador as a way of luring financial support from across the globe.
The artist is scheduled to return to Malawi for a performance in April.
“We are looking for both local and international response of raising funds. We, therefore, settled for Davido as someone who can help us in that regard. That, however, does not mean that we are not working with local artists,” said Magalasi as quoted by the local press.
