Diamond Platinumz to headline Malawi’s Sand Music Festival as ticket sales commences Friday

Tanzanian artist Naseeb Abdul Juma well known as Diamond Platinumz will headline this years Sand Music Festival to be held at
Sunbird Livingstonia Beach Hotel in the Central Region Lakeshore district of Salima.

The festival is being organized by Impakt Events led by its founder and Director Lucious Banda.

This years event which happens to be the 6th edition will take place from 28th to 30th October, 2016.

According to information released by the organizers, ticket sales for the much awaited festival will commence on Friday 14th October 2016 and can be accesses at Blantyre, Lilongwe and Salima  Total Filling Stations.

Fans can also purchase the tickets electronically at a subsidised price of MK20,000.00  through Telecom Networks Malawi’s TNM Mpamba and National Bank of Malawi’s Mo626 Ice.

A cream of several local and international artists has been lined up and that include South Africa’s  Zihle Ngidi of te famous song
‘Shumaya’.

Ngidi confirmed his attendance through social media by writing “I do alot of African gigs because I’m an African…Malawi stand up”.

Also performing at the festival will be Zambia’s General Kanene and the Organized Family.

The list of Malawian performers include Lucius Banda, Lulu, Black Missionaries, Dan, Sally Nyundo, Nepman, Sam Smack, Tay Grin, Gwamba, Lambani Dube, Soul Raiders, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, The Great Angels and many more others.

There will also be other activities including Beach soccer and for the first time in Sand Music Festival, Impakt Events is bringing the sport of boxing.

This year’s Festival promises to better than ever according Wendy Harawa of Impakts Events who has called upon all Malawians to buy the tickets in time to eperience another greater moments.

“The festival is designed to highlight local tourism and culture and it is all about fan when local guests mix up with international
guests” said Harawa.

In all the previous years, the festival has attracted tourist from across Africa and even Europe.
