Mzuzu City legislator Leonard Njikho has asked notorious youth cadets from the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to stop threatening his life, saying he will be forced to act.
Njikho has threatened to open the “Pandora’s box” and reveal secrets that will shock the country of how DPP regional governor for the nrorth Kenneth Sanga, the party’s campaign director Jappie Mhango who is also Minister of Transport and Public Infrastructure, are destroying the party in the north.
The MP and Msongwe Ward councillor Judith Chiume (DPP) are suspected of manipulating the downfall of DPP candidate Yona Mkandawire who got three votes against 13 for Mchengautuwa Ward councillor William Mkandawire of People’s Party (PP) who retained the mayoral seat.
DPP has four councillors in Mzuzu City Council and five votes including Njikho’s.
However, it turned out that the DPP candidate got three votes.
“Those plotting to kill me are just vultures not even politicians. This is a remarkable failure of leadership,” he said.
Njikho said he had advised the party on the candidate who would win, but the party’s hierarchy in the North led by Sanga and Mhango disregarded his advice.
“These people are turning the image of President Prof Peter Mutharika and DPP in the north,” Njikho said.
He warned that he will be forced to “reveal things”.
DPP regional governor for the North, Kenneth Sanga, said Njikho is “hullicianating.”
Meanwhile, director of Church and Society of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Moses Mkandawire, has condemned the conduct of DPP cadets, warning it spells doom for the 2019 polls if not checked.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
