United has been the talk of the town after defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 last week Sunday at the Mzuzu Stadium.
This means that the Police cops are back on position one with 25 points from 11 games two above Silver who are on position two with 23 points from the same number of games.
Red Lions have moved four places up the table to dislodge Nyasa Big Bullets on position ten after thumping ninth placed Civo United at the Zomba Community Centre Ground.
The soldiers now have 13 points while Civo remain on ninth with 15 points.
Meanwhile, Blue Eagles coach Decklerk Msakakuona says he will do everything possible to make sure that they avoid dropping any point to maintain their lead.
He also hailed his charges for the wonderful perfomance against their opponents Karonga United a team he described as young but talented.
Karonga Coach Kondwani Mwalweni his side was not impressive but said poor officiation contributed to their loss.
He blamed the referee of favouring the home team as well as of making several questionable decisions.
