Ecobank unveils digital products for convenient banking in Malawi

Ecobank has unveiled a widespread digital products including the new Ecobank Mobile App.

Some of the digital solutions are Ecobank Mobile App, Ecobank Xpress Account, internet banking, Master Card, Instant card issuing,  Automated teller Machines and the Points of Sale terminals.

The bank’s Managing Director, Charles Asiedu presented the digital array at their Blantyre Offices on Thursday .

“Ecobank digital platforms offer an opportunity to develop new, previously unimagined services for our customers – to help use money more effectively. The power of digital banking has the potential to unlock enormous lifestyle, business and other financial opportunities across the country,” Asiedu said.

Asiedu believes the digital platforms will open up financial services to the unbanked while serving existing customers at a new level adding this “will help transform  the country  and leapfrog economic development.”

“By leveraging the power of digital, Ecobank is freeing up customers, including merchants, in Malawi to grow their businesses and live their lives more easily,”  he said.

On Ecobank Mobile App, Asiedusaid  it will  enable  customers to open a free digital account.

“Ecobank Xpress Account. The beauty of this account is that you can open it instantly with no references, or paperwork,” he said.

Asiedu also said the new app opens up huge opportunities for customers by allowing them to shop, transact and do business without cash.

“We are proud to launch this innovative digital product in  Malawi. The Ecobank Mobile App is part of Ecobank’s digital offerings. Known as Ecobank_on, the array supports our drive to digitalise banking in the country and across the continent,” saidAsiedu.

Ecobank Malawi provides products and services through  its branches in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Mangochi and 28  ATMs in the country.

With the app, customers now have the opportunity to carry out various transactions on their phones.
