EPAC, Bullets game grosses K3.3 million -FAM

Sunday’s Standard Bank Cup top 8 knock out second leg match involving Epac FC and Big Bullets at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe grossed total revenue of K3, 367,245.00 million from the gates, Nyasa Times, has learnt.

According to Football Association of Malawi (Fam) this is the largest sum of money in history collected from the 15,000-seater Silver Stadium, which has a smaller seating capacity compared to Civo Stadium.

From the gross collection, Fam and the two clubs got K600,375.50 each with ground owners pocketing K643,259.46.

Security Police officers and match Stewarts were paid K159,500 and K75,000 respectively with cashiers and supervisors pocketing K235,707.15 and K305,000  in that order. K128,651.89 went to Sports Council while First Aid personnel got K10,000.

Miscellaneous expenses amounted to K9,000, according to information sourced from Fam, which doubled entry fee for the open stands from K100 to K200.

Meanwhile, information gathered by Nyasa Times, indicate Fam wants to hike fees for the open stands during the Mighty Wanderers, Big Bullets match, which is likely to be played at Silver from the usual K100 to K500 as a way of controlling entry into the stadium.
