Epac set to frustrate Wanderers in its title pursuit

Epac United football team coach Albus Makawa, believes that his side can cause an upset to TNM Super League title aspirants Mighty Wanderers, by producing another frustrating result to the Blantyre based outfit, when the two sides meet in the capital city on Sunday.

Makawa’s men had won the first round fixture at Zomba community center ground and they go into this fixture in a bullish mood hoping that, yet another frustrating result complete a double on the blues.

Mighty Wanderers has recently registered a strong  interest  to win this season’s league title and is amongst the teams which could pip ESCOM united at the summit of the table come January 28.

But Makawa says that he feels that his side has prepared enough to deal with the revived Nomads.

“I know this will be a very tough game as of late Wanderers has been playing superbly.  But that is not going to put us off because I have a lot of trust in my boys,”said Makawa

He also added that they will have an added home ground advantage.

“I know they will be coming into this fixture with a mind to revenge on that game we won in Zomba, but I don’t think that will happen,” said Makawa.

Nomads ready

Meanwhile, Wanderers coach Franco Ndawa said his side will be fighting from all the cylinders to collect maximum points and stand a chance to win the title.

“Surely the form we’re in, we can win the coming matches. It’s not going to be. These are difficult games. But in the form we’re in we’ve got good chance,” he told Nyasa Times.

Ndawa believes the title fight will go to the wire.

“There’s still drama ahead, the teams at the top will drop points,” he said.
