Escom maintain TNM lead, BB face trip to Silver

By Jeromy Kadewere, Nyasa Times

As the battle continues in the elite 2011-2012 TNM Super League, teams have intensified in battling places on the log table with defending champions Escom United still leading the race.

The Electricians, who had a bumpy ride from Mzuzu last weekend, are topping the table with 15 points followed by the Area 3 giants Civo United, who have accumulated 12 points.

On the third position, there is the Salima based team Mafco with 12 points while Mighty Wanderers are chasing them closely on fourth with 11 points.

The soldiers, from the old capital city, Red Lions are on position five with 9 points, as well as the Area 30 Policemen, Blue Eagles, who have the same points but on position six.

Escom: Battle for points in TNM Super League

Having beaten Escom United over the weekend, new boys in the league, Embangweni United are sitting comfortably on position seven with 8 points being followed by Blantyre United, who have accumulated 7.

The People’s team, Big Bullets are stuck on unfamiliar position nine with 7 points, as Moyale Barracks are closely monitoring them behind with 6 points.

On eleventh position, are the bankers from Area 47, Silver Strikers, who seems disorganised as they have managed to accumulate 6 points.

Another out-fit still not on the right track, is Azam Tigers, who have 5 points on position 12 followed by Epac and Zomba United with 4 points.

Anchoring the log table are the soldiers from Zomba, Cobbe Barracks, with three points which they earned after beating Silver.

However, the table is likely to change this coming weekend as the battle for points continues with some mouth watering fixtures.
