Escom sisters prune Chitakale in OG Issa League
Escom Sisters were in a serious business on Saturday in the OG Issa Southern Netball League as they went on to humiliate Chitakale 108 baskets to 10 at Blantyre Youth Centre in Blantyre.
Escom, who featured most of their regular players like Caroline ‘Ayuda’ Ngwira, Bridget Kumwenda, Towera ‘Tobe’ Vinkhumbo, Jessica ‘Agogo’ Mazengera were superior in all the four quarters outplaying the tea growing district girls.
Chitakale lacked experience and composure in front on the goal, as they missed a lot of scoring opportunities.
Escom Sisters mettle was proved in the second and third quarter, where they did not allow Chitakale to notch any goal apart from the three goals they scored in the first quarter.
In other matches at the same venue, Bingu Tigresses slippery shooter, Sindi ‘Sniper’ Simutowe was hero of the day, as she led her colleagues to a 89-20 victory against Glass Bank.
Tigresses out-played the new rookies in all the quarters with the likes of Lauren Ngwira, Ellen Chibokho, Grace Mwafulirwa and Beatrice Kadango in a slaughtering mood.
Aquaid also beat Rock Quiz 17-53, as Chilomoni pumped in 24 baskets to 25 against Prison.
In the last match of the day, Chiradzulu lost to Triggers 40-30 baskets.
