  6. Real Doc.,
    He respected the bible.
    He knew no tribalism.
    He knew no nepotism.
    He knew no regionalism.
    He also spoke his mind.
He really had passion for Malawi, his nation.
He was a hard working doc.
He was well trained and not just favoured.
RIP, doc, May the Lord welcome you to His Kingdom.

  7. RIP our dear father Nga Ntafu. I suspect foul play here, i smell DPP in this, I shud not hide my raw assessment. He was driven by DPP driver in that blue Nissan March, which is not one of his fleet. DPP should be held accountable to the demise of Nga…

  8. lets examine these little cheap reconditioned cars we are buying from Japan, are they designed for survival in crash?

  9. These are vehicles for big people I mean retired officers come to Nchalo and see for yourself white hair dyed with easy black to look as young as the vehicle itself.

  10. A person born from a woman is of limited days of life, the Bible says so. Very sorry to the bereaved members of Ntafu for the untimely tragic death. MHSRIP. I will miss Dr G. Ntafu who was famously known by this speech in August House “AGALU INU”

  11. its very sad that most people on this forum have resorted to be God, judging Dr Ntafu as if they are angels themselves. what you should know is that no matter how bad you can talk about Dr Ntafu, someone somewhere is crying because the deceased helped them in one way or another. Let us focus on our lives rather that judging other people. Moto umapita kwatsala tchire. What will people write about you who are posing as angels today? search you souls!!!!!!
and please tayiwelengani nkhaniyi bwino bwino. Zina mukulembazi mukuzitenga kuti? Panenedwa za 12 midnight apa?

  12. My heart felt condolances should go to the bereaved family. This is tragic indeed. I knew Dr Mtafu as he liked visiting and chatting with any one regardless of his own dignity. He was a good man and cheering. I will sadly miss him. May his soul rest in peace.

  13. This is the guy who wouldnt attend to the collapsing former Speaker of Parliament, Rodwell Munyenyembe despite being a Neuro Surgeon. He lost my respect

  14. Malawi has lost an important figure. I personally once interacted with Dr Ntafu. He was a man full of humour. rest in peace

  15. YOU MEAN THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWED NTAFU TO USE SUCH CHEAP CAR OF A STREET VENDOR AND THEM USING V8? OR IS THIS FOUL PLAY? THE VEHICLE INVOLVED FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH? PLEASE BETTER EXPLAIN CLEARLY TO THE NATION OTHERWISE THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH.

  16. He was busy defendingAtcheya K1.7 billion theft.that money could have built a dual carriageway and save hundreds of innocent ices from avoidable head on collions. Or he could have demanded just 10 million out of the K1.7 billions to buy himself a decedent car with better safety features. RIP Nga Ntafu. Lesson for the living

  17. Malawians will miss u so much Dr Ntafu especially those who will need your outstanding neurosurgical skills.I will miss u too.May your soul rest peace.

  18. Each and every day we are loosing people with great ideas and potential contributions to the society. Nga Mtafu was my model in his achievements as the first Malawian neurogist Doctor. We really have limited time on earth and our days are numbered indeed. May his soul rest in Peace.

  19. This is very sad. How can a former cabinet minister die driving a Nissan March? You mean the whole Ministry of Health could not give him a better car as Chief Technical Advisor? To add salt to injury, he has been killed by a Ministry of Health lorry

  20. Indeed it was a terrible accident as i have gone past at the scene at around past two pm but did not know it was him involved in. May his soul be with the almighty creator and caller of all live things on earth as well as in heaven .My hearty condolences to the entire Pa/ma/trilineal sides

  21. MY God, I would like to agree with the writer above known as Payfis. Why do Malawians always go for the name such as Mwaiwathu where a patient can be attended after half an hour or so even if there two lonely patients at the receiption. Patients are not given fast attention at this hospital and definitely he died due to delay and loss of blood. Why could Ntafu not be rushed to Queens where there are a group of Doctors than waiting the doctors at Mwaiwathu with names? Malawians get a lesson out this please.Yes, I do understand that even at Queens he would have died too but at least attention is usually given in time than what we see usually at Mwaiwathu Hospital KUFERA WOOD KUMENEKO and yet heavy bills have been tendered to the deceased family Gosh!!!!

  22. Mayb the best….if not the only 1 in his carriber. The gentle-man has achieved great in both his political and medical carreer.

May his soul rest in ertenal peace!

  23. Very sad loss not only to the islanders but to the whole nation. These were the first (specialist) doctors in Malawi. Others include: Dr Liomba, (first pathologist), Late Dr Bello, (eye specialist), retired Dr Malenga (nee Salaka, first woman doctor), etc. Dr Ntafu was the first Malawian neurosurgion.

It is a sad loss. MHSRP. Kaka, go well. You will always be missed.

  24. This man, the first Malawian neuro surgeon helped so many in his political life and medical life. I used to joke with him in Deutsch (German) which he spoke flawlessly.RIP

  25. Extremely so shocked for I knew Dr NGA Ntafu way back in 1992 when I was involved in a terrible car accident at Malosa soon after the Police station heading to Liwonde. A Germany vw comb driving right lane towards Zomba hit and pushed me right outside the road and the whole of my suit was bloody. Malawi Army Soldiers with TATA immediately took me to Malosa Hospital and after two weeks in the hospital my wife to be asked the hospital to transfer me to Mwaiwathu in Blantyre where upon arrival Doctors at Mwaiwathu clearly condemned me as no survival and Doctor Ntafu upon hearing it asked my wife to me to his clinic because I had head injury. God saved me through Dr Ntafu when his senior nurse was Mrs Mhango lived at Soche East by then. May his soul rest in eternal peace Ntafu.

  26. I will miss you papa.It is very sad when the nation at the state of its being now we lose people like you.Rest in peace Papa.

  27. May his soul rest in peace we shall miss him.Until we meet again in heaven say Rest in peace

  28. I will leave to remember Dr Ntafu when I had a brain surgery on 2 Feb 2010 at Mwaiwathu. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

  29. Lets focus on what matters here for we cant undo anything here, after all am just a picture Analyst.

Are my eyes deceiving me? Is this not a Nissan March am seeing? So after being a cabinet minister, a personal doc to a man with a K1.7 bn tag on his collar and a Chief Technical Advisor you end up driving a grasshopper for a car? Of course, some short-sighted mortals will say but everybody has a taste and therefore it doesn’t matter. But I will tell you that is matters. Lend me your ear, therefore!

The probability of God calling you for a meeting of life-book balancing is higher on head-on collision if you are driving a Nissan March, a toyota vitz e.t.c than a basic mercedes e.g. C180 or VW golf; holding other factors constant. I know you wont agree coz you dont know what probability is and what “holding other things constant” means and cant understand even if I tell you.

Many a malawian man do the same. They buy their wives a Toyota Vitz, Nissan March, Mazda Demio and other wheelbarrows in the name of love, yet they themselves cant want to be seen (even by themselves) driving such eyesores. You dont wish them well, this you should know. Buy them what you yourself can comfortably drive – safety-wise.

That our roads are poor is an open secret, you can ask Jacob Zuma – the philanderer. That many malawian drivers are assholes on the road, only a fool can deny. In such an environment of chaos and madness its should be incumbent upon everyone to take personal responsibility to drive some (not expensive but) sensible cars e.g. VW golf, Merc, BMW, volvo et cetera and delay the part of his/her death that you can. Death cant be delayed/avoided you say? But you will be quick to agree that a womaniser is more likely to invite death upon himself than a timid crow, holding other things constant. You are strange indeed!

This nevertheless shall be a clear demonstration that we love ourselves, our family, relations and country. Anyway . . .

“We only part, to meet again.” – John Gay

    1. I like your analysis. But don’t assume that you are the only one with some understanding of ‘probability’ on this forum. Others like myself have studied advanced probability theory to the core. Again the probability for you to understand this is unfortunately very small

      1. Am glad to learn you can understand probability but sad to learn you have studied only theory to the core and at advanced level.

  30. Bad Malawian Drivers especially ma driver a M’Boma. Makamaka oyendetsa magalimoto akuluakulu. They don’t care about those driving smaller cars. We have lost the man, the doctor specialist and our member. Hope to see him in the resurrection morning when the trumpet of God shall sound awakening all those who have slept in the Lord. 1 Thesalonians 4:16, John 5:28-29, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, Revelation 14:13, John 11:25, Revelation 21:1-4,
And to us who are alive today, death is still knocking at our door looking for even the slightest opportunity to strike. We are just few centimetres away from it 1 Samuel 20:3. And we know not when it will strike, then what sort of life do we ought to pursue as we all wait for this unwelcome and unfriendly guest? James 4:14.
Amaranatha anzanga onse pepani and the deceased family.

  31. We cannot deny the fact that these deaths are as a result of the poor road infrastructure in our country. It is sad that we still rely on single carriage ways in our city and other parts handling heavy traffic. Almost 90 % of accidents this far are in form of collisions. The roads are too small such that any loss of control by one vehicle fatally affects other innocent road user. There would be such accidents if we had dual carriage ways. A loss of control by a vehicle would only affect that vehicle and not killing or affecting other road users. Up to now I fail to understand what we do with our resources. Unfortunately our government and city planners and the road traffic directorate see these accidents as normal and unwilling to address the root cause which is the road infrastructure. In other countries they have thousands of traffic lights in a single city. At every junction, roundabout and pedestrian crossing. Tikanali mtulodi. These other things we can do better with the little resources available. Ironically some of those dying on the roads are politicians who in some way or the other could have done something or influenced something to be done to save the many other lives lost on this death trap, which is the roads in Malawi. Indeed you have to always pray for your safety when travelling of the roads of Malawi. Until something is done, these deaths will remain a common news flush. All in all MHSRIP Nga Mtafu

  32. Deepest condolences to Ntafu’s family and friends on the sad demise of their family member and colleague respectively. May the good Lord provide enough comfort to the beleaved during this hardest time.

  33. A very good doctor but a bad politician, very humble and very friendly. Very sad . We will miss you doctor.

  34. Mr Speaker Sirrrrr, you must be very Stupid! I wil always miss u Honourable George Nga Ntafu.

  38. A tragic story.
His contribution to the Malawian medical practice is enormous. He will be solely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
    MHSRIP.

  39. Dr Mtafu amalemba buku due for release next yr, mu buku mo analemba za mbiri yonse ya chipani cha UDF ndi mbiri ya a Bakili Muluzi momwemo moti a Bakili atawerengako ka leakage ka buku li samagona tulo. Lero a Mtafu awa pa ngozi a Muluzi agona tulo tsopano.

  40. There is no peace no rest but sleeping and waiting for his judgment. We better be ready always. Gud example to all of us who r alive today. 1 Samuel 14 verse 14

  41. Mr speaker sir! Mr speaker sir! Honourable leader of udf could you wind up please? Mr speaker sir you must be very stupid!!! I replay this statement in mind right now. I loved mr Mtafu alot. His approach to issues and his calmness was next to none. May your soul rest in peace.

  42. This is a reminder to all of us that we should live our lives wisely because we do not know when the window of opportunity to repent will close. All that noise, all that jostling for power, all that bad language has come to a stop in a shocking way. I for one will miss Nga Ntafu and hopefully I will tell my little children when they grow up that once upon a time we had a politician who was interesting in his own way. Fare thee well Nga.

  43. ooooooh agalu inu mwapitadi munamenya nkhondo yofuna kutichosera nnkhwande zaku thyolo mukufuna sec 65 munayesesa koma mwatisira mavuto ndi mfiti za mulahwo

  44. Many people will easily remember him when u remind them that he was the one who uttered the words (stupid in parliament). MHSRIP

  45. Just a bit of education on the names of the roads: Chileka road officially starts from Clock Tower round about goes past HHI then down Nyambadwe past Chirimba Railway Crossing to Chileka Round About (popularly and wrongly called Kameza round about). The road that branches from Glyn Jones road at Old Kandodo Cornershop and passes through Mbayani and Chirimba up to Chileka round about (Kameza round about) is still called Glyn Jones road officially. The road that extends from old Kandodo corner shop past Mt Soche and up to the junction with Chilomoni ring road is also called Glyn Jones road. These are the official names. Thus if the accident happened near Dovic hotel, then it happened in the Glyn Jones road officially.

  46. Good people are going. We lost muckracker, then Brother Brussels and now one of the three neurologist in southern Africa, Dr Gorge Nga Ntafu. Rest in peace.

  47. It was not in Chirimba but Chileka road after Panorama right pa stage ya pa church after panorama. Near former Monarchy flats which is now a lodge.

  48. May your soul rest in peace. Indeed we will live to remember your role in parliament but most of all your role of saving people as a neurologist so many have been treated by u. You were the best in your profession

  49. We rest before we die when we find our rest in Christ Jesus and then for us to live must be Christ and to die must be gain. But after we die no number of prayers and wishes of people can influence what happens in the after life. It is very important for all of us to live while believing and also to leave while believing. I will remember him more as a Neurologist than as a politician. He put Malawi on the map by being the face of Neurology for a long time.

  50. Strong Nga Mtafu will be remembered because of his strength he was in Parliament particulary during the first year of Bingu.
