Fake resignation letter about Malawi Veep Chilima goes Viral
You can’t always believe what you see on the internet, resignation letter purportedly written by Vice President Saulos Chilima is not authentic as it’s the work of forgery, both State House and Veep office have said.
The fake letter of resignation thas gone viral on social media.
The letter with a State seal is dated April 15 , 2017a appears to be expressing dismay over President Peter Mutharika led government’s failure to meet the developmental agenda that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) promised during campaign.
The letter further claims that Chilima is unhappy over a media blackout from the state broadcaster Malawi Broadcasting Station (MBC).
“Within the next 12 months I will resign and withdraw my services while transitioning to my successor,” reads part of the letter that has been disowned by Chilima through his press aide Pilirani Phiri.
State House press office said there is no such existence of the letter and advise the public to treat it as bogus.
Observers said however that the fact that “its not true” (whereas “its not true” shall mean its not an authentic document authored by Veep) does not necessarily mean its false.
The spirit and letter of the statement might be true in as far as what is happening behind the scenes is concerned.
There is no smoke without fire, they say. As such, the statement cannot just be ignored.

A fake letter can not give 12 months notice. This is genuine. If what VP does is not shown on MBC and ordinary ministers are on TV daily what does that say to average Malawian?
No need to publicly refute. This social media now is bahaving foolishly. How many people have come publicly to refute fake news? and how foolish the social media today is then how often will one come in public to refute fake news. Dont be cheated that this is smoke. people have faked so many issues without any truth at all and nothing even related to it happening.

Saulos Chirima is a very frustrated man, judging from the recent goings on, like MBC news blackouts. Its clear DPP does not want him, he has had their use and they now want to discard him.
The so-called fake letter is the work if DPP zealots to test Malawians’ reaction.

Vice President has to deny publicly that he wrote the letter and tell the public that he continues to support APM and his party the DPP.
Otherwise we Malawians must rightfully assume that the letter was either written by the Vice President and leaked deliberately or that the Vice President agrees with the contents.
Lets enter the era of integrity and honesty un politics, its serves no purpose carrying the cross in Easter processions but not living by the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Voice President may wish to recall what Jesus did to the money lenders on the steps of the temple. Its time the Vice President showed his true colours either he is a unprincipled coward in in for the fame and glory of office or a principled man prepared to call out Mutharika for his corruption, nepotism and tribalism.
Even if it were true the reasons for resigning would have stupid and sly for a man of Chilimas calibre. And I would have said let him go for he is not yet ready for the bigger picture. That is why I read it I saw lots of phallacies in it…

Whether the letter is a forgery or not let the Vice President clarify and tell the nation that she has 100 percent confidence in Peter Mutharika’s Presidency and the DPP.
And in any event as Mutharika will have read the letter the Vice President is alleged to have written Mutharika will have read the letter and he is now made aware that his Vice President has cause to complain
Why is it that Malawi is always flying on speculations these days? There must be things seriously going wrong somewhere somehow. We must pray to God to intervene!!
Touching letter though not authentic. I fully sympathise with the yougman. But in life things happen for a purpose. My strong message to the Vice President is that God prepares His own strategies. He can use means that appear awkward when observed by human eyes yet in the realms of God they are just perfect. I have seen the photos taken during the procession of the Holy cross and if my eyes don’t betray me, the VP is not a happy man. But youngman continue working humbly as you are doing who knows you could be the next head of state even get something more lucrative than that. I rest my case.
