FMB Under 20 finals set for Saturday

The waiting is over in the  First Merchant Bank (FMB) Under 20 following a semi-finals draw which was conducted on Wednesday at their headquarters offices in Blantyre.

Present during the draw was FMB Head of marketing manager Sylivia Mataka, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) officials Gomegzani Zakazaka and Flora Mwandira, Youth Football Committee.

During the draw, Fish Eagles were drawn against Soccer Saints in an early kick-off on Friday before Pacs fc against Griffin Young Stars at 2:30.

Both games will be played at Dedza Stadium as well as the finals on Saturday with the minister of sports Grace Obama Chiume as the guest of honour.

Mataka hailed National youth football committee for the smooth run of the cup and urged soccer lovers to patronise the games on Friday and Saturday in Dedza.

She also said as FMB they are happy in sponsoring the cup because they have helped in unearthing hidden talent.

“We are proud as a bank to have produced talented players to both Malawi Under 20 and some super league teams,” said Mataka.

Fam’s  Flora Mwandira saluted FMB for taking a leading role in the development of sports especially from the grass root level.

“We also promise the sponsors that the youth committee will continue to be more transparent. Sponsoring a cup for 5 years is not a joke and we say thanks to FMB,” she said.

The winners will go away with K300,000 with the loosing finalists receiving K 250,000.

Losing teams in the semis will receive sets of uniform.
