“We’re really excited to announce the first of our international headliners for this year’s festival…the incredible Freshly-ground!” announced organizers on their Facebook page.

Freshly-Ground, for years have been at the forefront of the music scene in Southern Africa with chart-topping tracks like ‘Waka Waka’, ‘Doo Be Doo’, and ‘Pot Belly’ followed up with their latest hits
‘Don’t Leave Me’ and ‘Army of One’.

An accomplished musical outfit known for their energetic live performances, Freshly-ground’s music has reached billions – and they will be performing live on the shores of Lake Malawi at Chintheche
Inn! in September this year.

Freshly-ground have been one of the greatest southern African acts for over a decade, but they rose to global fame with the hit ‘Waka Waka’ with Shakira as the official 2010 FIFA World Cup song.

Hahaha! Some peoples ignorance is astounding! Iwe Nanaphiri, Chinthechi Inn is the birth place of the Lake of Stars festival.

Lake of stars used to take place at Chinthechi until the organizers decided to listen to less-moneyed people from Bt and Ls who complained that Chinthechi is too far for them.
