Friends  of Douglas Chirambo to construct K1.5 mil tombstone for ex-Bullets Defender

A group of soccer lovers calling itself ‘Friends of Douglas Chirambo’ has ambarked on a campaign to raise money to build a tombstone for the  Nyasa Big Bullets and Flames defender Douglas Chirambo.

Rest in Peace Douglas-Chirambo.

Spokesperson for the group who is also former Bullets General Secretary Higger Mkandawire confirmed the development.

Mkandawire said they have set up a budget of about K1.5 Million for the project.

He said they have already discussed with the Chirambo family and  have been given a go ahead.

Mkandawire diescribed Chirambo as  a player who dedicated all his entire life to Bullets hence the need to give him a special honour.

The gifted left footer died on 5th April 2015 at Thyolo District Hospital after a long battle with Brain Tumour.

He was laid to rest in his home district Rumphi.

Meanwhile, Mkandawire on behalf of the entire committee set to manage the project has called upon all well wishers to come forward with their little contributions to accomplish the mission.

Those interested can deposit the money through National Bank of Malawi Account Number 1000818956, Customs Road Branch whose holder is Bernard Harawa a brother to late Douglas.

Money contributions can also be sent through Airtel Money (0999661608) and TNM Mpamba (0882394925).

Chairperson for the special Committee is  Mrs. Chenda Mkandawire, Anthony Msendema as Vice Chairperson while George Ndindi is the Treasurer.

Good move but my advise is open an account. A harawa akhonza kuyesedwa ndikuzitikita. So open an account.

This is a good move but I would suggest that there should be a committee who will be responsible for this activity. An account for this should be opened for accountability purpose. Depositing to individual account is questionable.

kKoma zokamanga chipilala k15000000 ndiye maganizi olakwika osathandiza banja lake ndi makolo 10000000 kuti ayiwaleko mavuto ali nawo pakhomo the pillar wont solve anything

Good idea 8UT; are his children going to better schools. Its not good to spend all this on a tombstone when his children are not being given a good future. Dont hear me wrong, food for thought.

Thus good initiative of course koma nanga bullets ngati team Kapanga po chani. Mulungu adalitse zimenedzi and achotse nzeru zonse zofuna kudyerapo panjirayi

Major pen

I can trust mtumbuka with money since cash gate, please musadye ndalama zikapedzeka because Chilidza chokha 1.5 million eeee yachuluka. I smell arrotten Rat, ndipanga ku mpamba but I do not trust this group, Kambalazaza alowererepo ma Pemphero ndalama zisanyambitidwe.

A good move..but they would have opened a separate account for proper accountability to the contributors…not depositing money to an individual account where accessibility can and accountability will be a challenge..
