Give me names of rotten ministers, Malawi leader challenges opposition

President Peter Mutharika has challenged the opposition to name the seven corrupt Cabinet ministers or else they should shut up.

President Mutharika: There are no 7 cashgate ministers

Mutharika said he was tired of claims and allegations of corrupt practises in his government.

“Give me evidence, where is the evidence? Give the evidence to the ACB (Anti Corruption Bureau) to the director of public prosecutions,” said Mutharika.

He was speaking on Thursday when he met members of Malawi Human Rights Commission.

Mutharika’s comments come barely days after the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) expressed concern over rising corrupt practices in the country.

The seemigly angry Mutharika said it was just smear for cheap poilitical mileage to suggest that his ministers were involved in the K236 billion plunder of public resources.

He said the opposition was repositioning itself for the 2019 political campaign and was involved in smear.

Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee say it will make public its findings on the K236 billion on January 31 so too its findings on former president Bingu wa Mutharika alleged to have amassed K61 billion through corruption and stashed the money outside the country.

mmmmh this “Ndizaulula” theory has even exhausted me, Mutharika is right name them now aa..

though I find it funny when the president is failing to act on Chaponda’s alleged “Maize gate” either way, the court served the guy with an injunction and him (president) being the defendant of the said constitution should have at least acted to show us that even when the rotten ministers were mentioned, he would be swift to act upon them.

A bwana Tisanamizane pankhani ya Chaponda mwakhala cheteyi ife tukaika ngati ma minister akutchulidwao muchitapo kanthu!

If not the 7 rotten ministers then who is involved, borrow a leaf from Joice Banda please. Her government published all names of the cashgators and arrested the suspects soon after the report. But you, peter muthalika, since you started damanding the names of the rotten ministers from the opposition what have you done to vindicate your government? If you can’t act on the bakertilly report implicating your ministers, how then should we expect you to act on the yet to be released maizegate inquiry? Is it not dilly dallying tacts? But time is running out for your government, before it falls into self dug abyss.
