GoTV  first round matches grosses K119 000 gate collection

Encouraging! The 2017 GoTV Netball Challenge League has started in a high promising spirit as the first day of the competition has managed to gross K119 000 from gate charges.

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) in conjuction with the GoTV sponsors Multi Choice Malawi agreed to introduce gate charges in this years competition whereby every netball fans will be allowed to pay K200 to watch games.

However, it was very doubtfull to many people  whether the games will be having a good patronage since for many years people have been watching netball competitions for free despite being the only sport which put the Malawi flag on the map.

But the decision of introducing gate changes has proven to be a good development in the first round after  an impresing patronage.

Saturday matches managed to raise K89 000 while on Sunday a total of K30 000 was collected.

NAM president Khungikile Matiya was very delighted with the amount saying its a good start and encouraging.

“Honestly as NAM we are very greatful for this figure  since it was our start we hope that we’ll have a different story than this in the near future, we’ll try to keep on puting gate charges in all the competitions  organised by NAM,” said Matiya.

Matiya also asked Northern and Central region to come in numbers during the second and final round of the 2017 Gotv competition.
