Govt fires Seodi, Nkolokosa and Mmana: Minister Kazako says more heads to roll

The Tonse Alliance led government  has terminated contracts of Chief Director for Reforms Seodi White and two senior officials at Ministry of Information.

Seodi: Fired
Nkolokosa: Fired as chief information officer

Minister of Information Gospel Kazako, who is government spokesperson, confirmed Seodi White services are untenable.

He said White, a former women rights activist and lawyer, was recruited but in accordance to the law.

According to Kazako, two officials in his ministry – Director of Information a journalist-cum-academician Mzati Nkolokosa and his deputy Deogratias Mmana have also been  given the boot.

Nkolokosa  was hired in 2019  from EGENCO where he worked as a Business Development Officer in the Division of Planning and Development.

Prior to joining EGENCO, Nkolokosa worked in senior positions at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). He started his career at Nation Publications Limited where he established himself as a distinguished feature writer.

In addition to being a journalist, Nkolokosa is also a writer and a psychologist.

Apart from his day time jobs, he has been Adjunct Faculty at Chancellor College where he taught journalism; at Malawi Polytechnic where he taught Literature and at College of Medicine where he taught Psychology.

He is author of one book and three journal articles.

Kazako said the Tonse  administration wants to re-align public service for the development of the country.

The Minister says more dismissals will come, to affect people who used shortcuts getting their employment.

Alamu Pumani Mwakalamba

Long overdue dismissals. The dpp was there just to destroy professionalism. The civil service has it own code of doing business and this includes recruitment and promotions. It is not inline just to jump someone from PO or AO grade to P5. How would the ones being jumped feel. This demotivates. Someone who was writing loose minutes or Memoranda suddenly becomes your boss. Please look at what happened in all statutory companies and check how Director Generals, CEO and others were recruited. Do not look at the top bosses. They brought their own people.

Kazako said the trio were recruited without interviews. Let Kazako know that the following were also recruited without interviews: SPC Zangazanga Chikhosi, Samuel Maweru, Gideon Kalumbu, Chancellor Kaferapanjira, Janet Banda and many more.

Hope Jane Ansah is there to console her. The mess caused by Jane Ansah will affect a lot of lives in the long term. What reforms did Seodi White do?

White has entirely herself to blame. She foolishly chose to play hyper-partisan politics while working as a civil servant. All in support of a very corrupt DPP regime. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Please make sure you do the same to parastatals. Eeeeish there is alot of mess. Recently SRWB and BWB recruited managers leaving out highly qualified people for fear of the top management position. Please find out who applied for the jobs and who were interviewed and who were taken.

Gospel, don’t beat about the bush, just say this is f**king political witch-hunt, period! We have seen this victimisation for so long and the Nokha Alliance is just being Malawian, typical.
