Mwasankha Ine became a record-breaking album in Great Angels’ history after more than 100,000 audio copies were sold during its launch on January 1st, 2015 at Sheaffer ICA Marque in Lilongwe.

And twelve months down the line, the grouping returned to the same venue on Friday with the DVD album and managed to sell a copy at K2 million.

Prophet Justice Hara bought a copy at K2 million while Parliamentarian Allan Ngumuya bought one at K50,000 during an auction.

The sold-out concert- which is one of a series of shows outlined across the country- was characterized by performances from former Parliamentarian, Billy Kaunda, Mlaka Maliro, Grace Chinga, Limbani Simenti, Marvelous Deeds, King James Phiri, Evance Meleka, Peter Mulangeni, Steve Muliya, Violet Tengani, Donnex Muva, Mau K, Martha Kasambara, Martha Nthakomwa and many others.

Mwasankha Ine CD was recorded by former Parliamentarian, Joseph Tembo at Groove Magic Studio and has so far sold over 40,000 copies. The album contains songs like Tadikira, Samadziwa Kanthu and Akuyimilira ndani.

Great Angels is one of the leading choirs in the country with best-selling albums such as Ndiyende Bwanji, Mundifungatile and Gwireni Dzanja, which contains a popular song Paine Ndekha Sindingathe.

“We are happy with the turn-out and we expect the same response in Balaka on 27th December at Balaka Mlambe Motel and final show on 1st January, 2016 at Mzuzu Boma Park,” explained the choir’s Music Director, William Zonda,

Zonda said the patronage during the Friday’s show signifies people’s affection towards the choir.

The 10-track Mwasankha Ine DVD was officially launched in Blantyre on 6th December at BAT Ground before moving to Lilongwe on Friday 25th December at Sheaffer Gardens Sheaffer ICA Marque.

The DVD has been produced by John Nguluwe of Positive Arts Company with the videos shot in various sceneries across the country which include Chikala Hills in Machinga district, Salima, Blantyre and Lilongwe among other places.

Good gesture but wrongly timed for Prop. Hara. You build your own Temple before such extravagance.

Chief cadet: you have a demon of judas iscariot. The prophet did well to support the work of God and he had a reward in heaven. The poor, the Master said, shall always be with us. Our lives don’t revolve around poor people , unfortunately. You need deliverance

where can one buy the dvd, a genuine one for that matter?

not many others can go to sheaffer, mulambe motel or bat,or boma park….etc can Zonda and group consider other shows in places like bicc, cap hotel etc.. even at mk5000…there is a certain segment of society u r also missing!

support artists are also too many for one show… one or two would do so that audience can have a real feel of your music!
