Gulewamkulu murdered in man’s self defence

Malawi police are keeping in custody Mcloud Mtonga, 23 for allegedly killing Ganizani Soko who was in a Gulewankulu regalia in a fight in the central region tobacco growing district of Kasungu.

Kasungu Police publicist Harry Namwaza  said the incident occurred on December 11 2018 at Chifisi village in the area of sub traditional authority  Mnyanja.

It is alleged that, on the day in question, Mtonga met Gulewankulu which started chasing him.

Mtonga tried to run away but Soko who was in the Gulewankulu regalia kept on chasing him. After getting tired Mtonga stopped after which Soko started whipping him with a stick. 

After feeling the pain of the stick, Mtonga strongly retaliated back by snatching the stick and whipped Soko back. Soko fell on the spot and he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

  3. Ochewa, very primitive life indeed. No school. In fact the beast exhausted all it’s energy due to running too much that’s why he couldent make it. There are a thousand ways of dying. One of them is to musk yourself and then die as a beast. Please Chewa parents tell your children the right thing.

Just bcz this has happened in Malawi then it’s considered normal & all the so-called CSO’s r quite bcz there is no travel allowance, meal allowance to it.   8. Release the boy pls. Why was the beast whipping the boy, supposing the beast killed this boy, would u arrest it? No issue here, this should be a lesson to these gulewankulu things, they should stop their foolish behaviour of chasing and beating innocent people for no reason

Yourself you knows about gule those animals they are deserve to die like that, he was protecting him self by animal,just let him go, is no case here. Inutso nokha pokaimba mulanduwo muzikati chani?   12. Some of these laws must be amended the suspect is not guilty as per see coz he was acting in self defence ..rules of engagement are supposed to be
    broken why is it so…to protect lives so here he was protecting his life no case

  14. Story not properly written culturally. How did chilombo become Soko? Consult properly before writing otherwise this is a crime against mizimu.

  18. Palibe mlandu apa. Mtonga hasn’t murdered any person here. He’s just killed a wild animal. Wapha chirombo osati munthu.

  20. This person has killed a marauding wild beast in self defence after it attached him, please set the innocent person. Just go and bury this beast like you with other like hyenas.. basi.
