Head of family in UTM office fire attack dies: One battle for life
Seleman Tambala whose family of seven people was petrol-bombed by unknown people in Area 24 Lilongwe at the UTM Party offices has died at the Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).
KCH spokesperson Chiyanjano Kazombo has confirmed the development.
Seleman is the third person to die after his wife and child who were buried on 7th May 2020.
UTM district governor for Lilongwe, Livan Phiri has said Tambala’s body will be laid to rest this Friday in Lilongwe.
One more member of the Tambala family is still in hospital at KCH nursing burns.
The torching of the UTM Party office came after unidentified thugs also burnt a UTM Party-branded vehicle in Balaka and after UTM leader Saulos Chilima condemned the spate of political violence.
Chancellor College based political scientist Mustafa Hussein warned that the violence which Malawians are seeing now will degenerate into chaos if political party leaders leave it unchecked.

Angry and disappointed the DPP Government and the President has not once offered condolences or support to this family for the injuries they have sustained.

Malawi Police Service under Mwapatsa is one of the major tragedies to have ever befallen our mother Malawi. My heart goes to this innocent family destroyed by a ruthless band of social misfits.
