Centre for the Development of people (Cedep) has expressed worry over the increasing HIV prevalence rate in Mulanje among the gay community.
Programmes manager for Cedep Rodney Chalera said recently that among the 2364 population of the gay community, the prevalence rate stands at 24.9 per cent.
He said the study was done in September 2014.
Cedep officer said other areas where the study was conducted include Mangochi, Mzuzu, Chikhwawa and Lilongwe with funding from the UN.
He said those that are in HIV programmes should respond positively.
One of the officials during the study Dr Khuliana Kabwere said the target of the study included the gay community and health workers.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
