Hip hop star Young Kay rebrands himself: ‘Call me Hyphen’

Do you remember the hit ‘Anankabango’ done by a slim, tall handsome lad calling himself Young Kay? The singer has been silent in terms of solo projects but now he is back in yown but not Young anymore.

No longer Young: Hyphene

The Hip Hop star who was born Francis Kaphuka has finally resurfaced but do not mistaken him or get confused after he has rebranded his music tag.

The Zipepese hitmaker claims he is no longer Young, now matured and a complete musician hence rebranding of his name.

“Allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is Hyphen,” announced the artist through a post on the social media.

He has however assured his followers that the waiting is now over and revealed that he is working on a new project and is set to release a new single next month.

“I should be releasing my first single before end of April” wrote Hyphen on Facebook.

The gifted musician who is best known for fusing local Malawian folk songs with international genres has previously worked with a cream of local artists who practice different genres including San B, Nepman, Tigris and Maskal, as well as collaborating with Third Eye, Episodz, Cyclone and Tsa Leo in ‘we run the City’ produced by the safe and talented hands of DJ Sley.

At the mean time, Hyphen has a simple message to his fans: “be easy and get ready for new materials soon”.
