HRDC vows Malawi election case outcome will not affect its stance on Ansah

Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) says the outcome of the landmark presidential case will not affect its stance on Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah that she stands down at the pollster.

Mtambo: HRDC will still push for Ansah ouster

HRDC vice chairperson Gift Trapence said the rights activists strongly believe that Ansah has presided over a highly manipulated presidential election, hence the call for her to resign.

“Which way the ruling will go, our stand is that Jane Ansah must resign as chairperson of MEC,” said Trapence.

He said the protests will continue even after the ruling of the case to force her out of office.

Trapence has therefore reiterated that HRDC will close down MEC offices should Ansah ignore calls for her to stepdown at the pollster.

Ansah has always refused to resign as MEC chairperson maintaining she is innocent.

Very true and radicalizing uneducated people is very easy. So the way forward is to get rid of these two guys to protect our people and our country. If such people can be assassinated it can be for the good of country.

Wow.
Now the “Burundian” is taking the whole issue personal, and to yet a higher level!
Begs the question: What wrong did Ms. Ansah do to Mtambo, personally? There seems to be no logic in this guy’s thinking here.

She must resign because she mismanaged Malawi’s tri-partite elections. We need very strong CSOs for transparency and accountability to reign. She must go!

So the whole HRDC was set up to fight Dr Jane Ansah a woman who defied the odds by conducting an election which produced unquestionable results and are here again to unleash terror among the peace loving Malawians. You want again to disrupt other people businesses,to provoke peoples anger and create a hostile environment,to disturb our children school calender like what you have done the whole of 2019 year. You already see concourt outcome and already scared that Dr Jane Ansah will come out clean.People are watching.Surely one day is coming sooner than you think when justice will prevail, you shall bear the… Read more »

Did I hear you saying un questionable results? Even with your blue brains you should at least know that the elections were questionable that is why there is a court case. The best was to say Jane Ansah never benefited from this and was not alone. Everybody makes mistakes in life including you and me and when it happens apology is enough. She messed up yes. But will her resignation change anything hell NO. Let us learn to think with brains and talk with mouth not the other way round please.
