Hunt for woman abducted in Blantyre continues
Police in the commercial city of Malawi, Blantyre are still hunting for a woman, who was abducted on Tuesday, April 3 around 5pm on the junction to Blantyre Water Board alongside the Makata Road.
According Southern Region police spokesperson Nicolas Gondwa, the woman was abducted by five unknown men and that by Wednesday there was still no trace of her.
“We have intensified our search for the woman who was abducted by five unknown men along the Makata Road on the junction to Blantyre Water Board,” said Gondwa.
An eye witness, who witnessed the whole saga told Nyasa Times that around 5pm after people had knocked off from work, a certain woman, was walking along side Makata Road going towards the populous Ndirande Township.
“From nowhere five men grabbed her and dragged her towards the Mudi Forest. People and the Police arrived at the scene of the incidence trying to search for the abductors and the woman but to no avail,” he told Nyasa Times.
He also described the whole saga as a mystery .
The junction to BWB alongside the Makata Road has been described as another ‘Linthipe 3’ because many people have lost their lives due to road accidents.
Linthipe 3 is a famous place in the central region district of Dedza, near the capital Lilongwe, where many Malawians lost their lives due to ‘mysterioys’ road accidents.
“This place is dangerous and many people believe that there is a demon here. I have no doubt that there is s demon at this place,” he said.
Some fear the abduction is the work of the underworld.
