  1. your name and dreams remains arrive despite your demise.you are the father of all of us who desire. change. to greatness. in malawi we will miss you so much

  2. From this death I come to conclude that Malawians have an idea of what is good for them in terms of personality and leadership but they deliberately choose to ignore their concious and instead they opt for madeya and mapwevupwevu instead. Basing on the comments, it is clear that many of us had respective for Nyondo and his ideas but very few showed this in their votes just to encourage him. Ndizoona chitsime chimadziwika kuti ndi chakuya chikaphwa. Let’s learn to love and appreciate other peoples’ efforts while they are still alive and not when they are gone. You were a truly great man Nyondo with great aspirations. You have fought a good fight. RIP

  21. RIP James Nyondo. Your contribution to the Mlalawi Nation will not be forgotten. You were one of the few politicians that stood for the truth and never compromised your integrity like the many fools we all know.

  23. What’s this nonsense that nyondo was hiding illness???what proof do you have? Who told you all cancer is terminal…more so some form of cancer is diagnosed At very advanced stage and becomes fatal within few months. ..have heard of people being Told have cancer and have few weeks to live.To insinuate Mr nyondo ran for prez knowing had cancer is nonsense!!!

  24. You where an inspiration to young Malawians. You showed that anything can be possible against all odds. You had your ideas of malata for the very poor. Ideas which many parties in this country took on. God has his own plans but your legacy will remain. MYSRIP

  26. So sad. Death has robbed us again of a talented young and dynamic man. May his soul RIP.

  27. CHIKKAE you are spot on – let’s declare medical History/ Status for Public Elected Positions. With due respected to the departed soul, all those with ‘TERMINAL’ diseases shouldn’t be allowed to stand, if that was the case during last elections, abale that list of 12 could’ve narrowed down to maybe 2 (including running mates). We should also have a confined age limit and then wealth (not after winning). Yes we know it’s possible to identify such an illness after Elections -nzotheka. koma zoziwikiratu ayi. Koma infayi inakati ukangoba zaboma basi pompo shock bwenzi eeeh!!

  28. As one ne renowned Malawian musicians sung “Kupanda kukuwuza anthu anthu, kusupa dzitserekwete ngati Peter wa Muthanyula”

  29. Only if we had a say on who should go first or who should stay… we have lost inspiration, leadership, vision, and many great talents to the grave. Kungotsala anthu oipa, a tsankho ndi mbava zokhazokha. MHSRIP

  30. Plizi pliz,, before joining politics you should declare medical history. Tatopa Nazi za ndata farm

  33. very sad, nyondo was avery patriotic and truemendasly politician he never give up,atrue democratic man, aman who stick to his gun always. May he R.I.P

  34. I remember shaking hands with this great son of Malawi at the pick of the memorable 2014 tripartite elections minutes before the last leg of the presidential debate, in Blantyre. That evening, James was at his best although I knew he would not make it to State House very soon. I hoped, however, that with the passing time, more and more Malawians would enbrass his radical views and vote him to State House. Throughout the debates Nyondo was not populist but pragmatic. He exhuded the true spirit of a patriot. He measured each word and argument that came from his mouth. His death reminds me the words of Sir Henry Kissinger that he spoke during the funeral of Nelson Rockefeller, one of US’s greatest sons on Feb 2, 1979 when he said: “He continually called the nation’s leaders and thinkers to their responsibilities, to make their commitments and apply their best efforts to the future of the nation”. God’s will had it that James made his enduring mark on our society while so young and for so short a time. Let this be a reminder to all of us that the task of nation building is for
the old and the young alike because this is our country together. The old should seek to protect the young and the young should seek to protect the young. Cashgate is the modern-day nuclear bomb that the old have recently and shamelessly unleashed on young Malawians. This, James Nyondo abhored to his early grave. Rest well James till we shake hands again in Glory. Your words shall always ring in our hearts. You lived well. A true patriot. Kent Mphepo, Blantyre.

  35. I worked with James as his first Secretary General of NASAF. James was humble, intelligent, feared GOD and loved all. Above all he listened to us and moved on. I will miss you James, you were my brother. Brenda,Mliska and family, God comforts you all.

  36. An exceptional friend gone too soon.
In you, James, Malawi had the most visionary leader of our day. That is, if we could only have momentarily suspend our tribalism and regionalism.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this most trying time.
    R.I.P.

  37. Oh no! That’s very sad news indeed. So young and promising politically! I will miss him so much. May his soul rest in eternal peace! My condolences to the entire bereaved family. May the good Lord protect and comfort the widow and the children.

  38. May his soul rest in peace, you were one of the promising young politician ,to me you sounded better than Chakwera

  39. Rest in peace my aspiring president. i was waiting that sooner or later, you would become the first citizen of our country Malawi. God thought its good to take you home. RIP

  40. Another great mind is gone leaving a load of useless minds behind to lead us. My your soul rest in peace man,you tried to make a mark on Malawi politics cos you loved your country but it wasn’t meant to be.

  41. too young to die, Malawi has lost one of the promising politician, my his soul rest in peace

  42. We have lost an exposed & learned politician, the future leadership of this country. Above all we’ve lost his contribution to the development of the nation. RIP.

  43. Oh my old best friend James I really didn’t expect this, why so early you were my regional hope.

You used to come to my house when coming from chancellor college on your way home in the early 90s at Zolozolo while advising me on being very careful when critising the government of Dr. Banda.

May your soul rest in peace.

  44. May his soul rest in peace. May Jah condole and be with the bereaved family

  45. The 2019 polls down there shall also be tough also, mcp-kamuzu, dpp-bingu and others plus the nasaf guy. Kamuzu shall no longer be dictating the underground malawi. Democracy now also under the soil.

  46. May his soul rest in peace. We have lost a promising asset in political ream. But what happened to his frozen millions during Bingu’s time?

  47. Very good man gone too soon. He is probably the only Tumbuka who reasoned like a normal Malawian!

  48. Sad story. The nation has lost a formidable young and courageous and promising politicians. MHSRIP.
