Kaliati in South Africa to attend trials: Malawi star upbeat

Mighty Be Forwad Wanderers and Flames starlet Isaac Kaliati on Tuesday h left the country for South Africa where he is expected to undergo a two-week trials at South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Cape Town City.

Speaking to Nyasa Times before departure at Blantyre-Chileka International Airport, Kaliati said he is  hoping to do well so that he  can be offered a deal at the South African club.

“I am confident  that Ii will make it with God’s grace. I put God first in everything and his favors are all upon me.

“I thank my parents, Wanderers family and everyone behind this move. This is a dream come true for me and am keeping my fingers crossed,” said Kaliati.

Wanderers Team Manager Steve Madeira said they are happy with the development.

“We are in a tight corner as a club. Isaac is one of our promising talents and we will surely miss his services if the deal materialises. However, we are confident that he will make it,” Madeira said.

According to Mike Makabu, the man behind the move, Kaliati is expected to undergo intensive trials from 8 March to 20 March, 2017.

He is expected back in the country on 21st March.

Cape Town City have taken the Absa Premiership by storm this season and are currently second on the log table with 35 points from 19 games.
