Kalindo threatens to close Malawi borders: “Gov’t can’t arrest me lest I spill beans”

Vocal political activist Bon Kalindo has warned that his demonstrations may spill over to district councils if the government does not address his demands.

Kalindo, who made his remarks during his press briefing in Mzuzu on Thursday morning, also threatened to close the country’s borders to force the government to address their grievances.

He challenged that the Tonse Alliance government cannot dare to arrest him because “I keep number of their evil secret.”

He assured that his Friday’s demonstration in Mzuzu is still on despite facing some resistance from government.

The former UTM national youth director attacked faith leaders who held a press briefing in Mzuzu where they expressed disapproval of the demonstration.

Led by Reverend William Tembo of CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, the faith leaders asked Kalindo to cancel his Friday’s demonstration and take another platform.

But Kalindo rebuffed the call and described the clergy as agents of the government.

It takes a brave man to act. Whether what he is fighting for is a town or a reaction he still need to be respected. He is not insane but brave. Bravo bwana Kalindo. You fought and you are still fighting. I salute you

This idiot thinks everyone will be for him,
At first we understood that our economy is indeed bad, but now what does he want to achieve? Musiyeni akatseke ma boarder, kutha kwa kape uku, his 15 minutes fame will end badly.

I see a shadow of evil behind Kalindo. His true pay masters are now invisible but we will see them very soon. They think Kalindo is their pawn of fighting back for the crimes they committed. Govt, be strong and decisive that’s what effective leadership is about. Consider the social and economic costs of his demos. Weigh them against the tenet of democracy. Get this tumour now before it becomes cancerous

Senseless idea. His drive is of course sensible but why would he close the boarders? The same Malawians he says he is fighting for will pay heavily if he closes the boarders and the suffering and misery will be of course his own doing.

Mr Kalindo should differentiate the demos with border issues. That’s now a matter of national interest and that’s where the MDF comes in and they have no mercy on someone who has such a treasonous mind. Mr Kalindo just forget about the borders concentrate on minor issues unless you also have an army and whoever is advising you is very wrong. Never ever temper around with these borders. You now playing with real fire.

Drama at its best! The cost of living is really high and his concerns are legitimate…but once he starts to feel invincible and above the law then he is getting too proud and arrogant for nothing. Closing our borders is tantamount to attacking the nation.
