Kampanikiza resigns as Chairperson of Goshen City Dedza Dynamos
Goshen City Dedza Dynamos Chairperson Gerald Kampanikiza has dramatically resigned from his position with immediate effect, citing a string of grievances including claims he was viewed as a threat to the club’s ownership.

General Secretary Mavuto Mugode confirmed that the club had received Kampanikiza’s resignation letter, but asked for more time before commenting further on the matter.
In his letter, Kampanikiza – who also serves as a Malawi Congress Party politician – detailed several challenges that led to his decision, including being perceived as a threat to the team’s ownership and what he described as a lack of respect for the executive committee’s role within the club.
He also claimed the club’s sponsor, Goshen City, had not been given sufficient recognition, and said his ambition had always been to contribute to the team’s success despite recent difficulties.
Among those difficulties, Kampanikiza pointed to personal attacks made against him on sports programmes broadcast by some media houses, which he suggested had made his position increasingly untenable.
The club says it is yet to decide who will take over the chairperson role, with the position remaining vacant until further notice.
