Kamtolatola Social Football Club are champions for the K4.6 million TNM Social Football tournament in Chinsapo zone following their 7-6 triumph over Super Lions during the final for the zone played at Unicef Ground on Saturday.
The two finalists played out a 1-all in regulation time forcing the game into the dreaded shoot-outs, which saw Kamtolatola coming out victorious via a 7-6 score-line.
For winning the tournament, Kamtolatola Socials received a trophy and K100,000 cash with the runners-up pocketing K70,000.
The Saturday final was the fourth in a series of 17 social soccer tournaments which the premier mobile service provider has been sponsoring in 17 sites in Central Region where the company has planted towers. In celebrating the launch of the new sites, TNM has allocated K250,000 for a social soccer tournament in each of the 17 sites.
Speaking he presented the prizes, TNM’s commercial manager Chimwemwe Mganga reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting football at all levels.
“As a Malawian brand, we are committed to supporting football at all levels because we believe football unites people regardless of their culture, religious or political affiliations. You cannot talk football in Malawi without mentioning TNM,”
Mganga described the K4.6 million worth sponsorships as a gesture of appreciation from TNM for the support rendered to the company by Central Region subscribers.
The TNM commercial manager reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to providing quality service to central region and the rest of the country.
Area 23, Area 25, Njewa and Mbwatalika and Chinsapo are the sites which have concluded their tournaments.
