Kananji frustrated after missing 30 points first round target: Malawi TNM Super League
Nyasa Big Bullets stand in Coach Elia Kananji has expressed regret over his sides failure to reach their 30 points target at the end of
first round of the elite TNM Super League.

Kananji said this over the weekend after his side was held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Mafco FC at the Chilomoni Stadium.
“It is disappointing that we have failed to meet our target of finishing the first round with 30 points. We tried as much as possible
to win against Mafco and accomplish our dream in the final match but we failed so we will just focus on collecting maximum points in our final first round game” said Kananji.
Bullets who are on third position with 25 points six behind leaders Mighty Be Forward Wanderers will play their last game against Azam Tigers on 3rd September the day the first round games will be concluded.
According to Kananji, his team has struggled due to congestion of games which resulted into fatigue.
“One of the reasons can be fatigue because there was too much congestion. The players had no time to rest as they were playing
weekend and mid-week games. Their bodies became too heavy,” he said.
Added Kananji: “We were also trying different combinations to build a first team…you can be my witness that we have been changing the first line up now and then”.
He, however, expressed optimism that they will do better in the second round and compete for championship.
“We still have a long way to go and I hope by the start of the second round, the team will be in a perfect shape,” Kananji said.
Meanwhile, Kananji has disclosed that for this week, they have completely switched their focus and attention to the Carlsberg Cup
Semifinal encounter against Red Lions scheduled for this weekend.
