It was all smiles for the country’s human rights and consumer activist John Kapito and Blantyre City Mayor Noel Chalamanda when they were awarded for their contribution in customer service delivery.
The two were awarded during the second edition of Service Excellence Awards for Malawi organized by Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) in Lilongwe on Friday.
Kapito and Chalamanda were awarded in the Service Excellence Personality of the Year category during the event held at Sunbird Capital Hotel.
“I am delighted for getting a special recognition for my efforts and contribution to the improvement of service delivery in this country,” said Kapito who sounded delighted with the award.
CICM awarded leading service providers, nationally, organizations and individuals for their service excellence. The event was held under the theme “Service Excellence for Sustained National Economic Growth.”
The Service Excellence Awards are organized and managed by CICM which is a customer service professional board with presence in three continents and over 14 African countries.
Similar awards are held annually in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, to mention but a few.
This year in Malawi, CICM in collaboration with the Center for Development Management (CDM), local partner, honored the kings and queens of the customer service and service delivery across 28 sectors based on random survey feedback from customers selected across the country.
