‘Katamu Katamu’: TNM dangles K1mil for Mpamba agents
As one way of rewarding its mobile money agents, Malawi’s integrated mobile network and ICT service provider TNM has unveiled the “Katamu Katamu” promotion in which one lucky agent will win a whopping K1 million, in addition to other prizes.
Speaking during the launch, TNM’s Chief Officer – Consumer Services Daniel Makata said the promotion recognises the role of agents in promoting mobile money transfers and helping to strengthen financial inclusion in the country.
“TNM Mpamba therefore would like to reward the agents in recognition of their important role as catalysts for financial inclusion and an efficient, environmentally-friendly cashless society,” he said.
Makata said TNM values the support from its agents in driving the usage of its mobile money platform.
“Mpamba is growing in terms of volume of transactions. Agents are very critical for the success of Mpamba because they drive recruitment and acquisition,” he added .
The Chief Officer – Consumer Services said Mpamba accords TNM customers and Mpamba users the opportunity to make money transactions in a convenient manner.
“Mpamba ensures that Malawians have access to a convenient, secure and fast means of money transfer,” he explained.
To qualify for the fortnightly prizes, TNM Mpamba agents are required to carry out a minimum of 150 transactions in a week. These transactions include either redeeming a token, cashing in or cashing out Four lucky agents from each region will walk away with K100,000 and K50,000 each during fortnight draws.
