Kayuni, Masamba rivary resurfaces: Bout on Saturday at Robins Park

Boxing lovers in the Southern Region will have a special treat this coming Saturday 24th September, 2016 as boxing rivals Wilson ‘Shasha’ Masamba come face to face with Osgood Kayuni.

The bout will take place at the Robins Park and is being organized by Mulanje Last Boxing Promotion with funding from Chombe Fods Limited.

Mulanje Last Boxing Promotion Director Mike Chitenje confirmed on Tuesday that all is set for the famous bout.

“All is set for the bout between challenger Wilson Masamba And Osgood Kayuni on Saturday at the Robins Park. Gates will be opened at 11am and closed at 3;30pm” Chitenje said.

Chitenje said the two boxers have confirmed that they are happy with all the arrangements for the bout.

“The two have expressed satisfaction with all the arrangements. The last two bouts they fought, Masamba complained he lost because the judges were biased but this time he says he is happy with the panel lined upt” said Chitenje.

The two boxers will be meeting for the first time since 2012.

They fought twice and Kayuni emerged a victor through an unanimous decision in the first bout and a Technical Knockout in the second bout which ended in round five.

Masamba has a record of six defeats, two draws and 26 wins since he turned professional while Kayuni lost six times, drew three times and won 23 times.

kumenyana??? i dont like this ‘sport’. But really is this boxing a sport or it’s the devils way to manipulate and twist our thinking. Nobody in his right mind can go and fight somebody… kumatulutsana magazi. Why? What for? Awinapo chani? Eish this corrupted world.
