KB’s skipper says title defence not easy

As the TNM Super League enters Week 19, captain  for defending champions Kamuzu Barracks has admitted that his side has a mountain to climb inorder to defend the title they won for the first time last year.

The missing KB signature celebration

He said this after the soldiers were left fuming after collecting only a single point out of a possible six in their last weekend tour in the
eastern region.

They were held 0-0 by Red Lions on Saturday before being humbled 1-0 courtesy of an Esau Kanyenda loan strike 24 hours later with both games staged at Balaka Stadium.

“Things are not well but we will still fight. We have been doing everything but things haven’t worked out to get much needed results
thus a win,” Nkacha told Nyasa Times in an interview.

He however expressed optimism that the team will bounce back.

“We are not turning back. Our biggest wish is to defend the title but if that faiks, we will make sure we finish at a better position” added
Nkacha.

K.B are currently on position nine with 22 points from 17 games played so far.

Last year, K.B struggled in the first round finishing on position eight but ressurected in the second round and went on to win the
historical TNM Super League.
