Kenyatta Hill arrives in Malawi ahead of weekend shows
Jamaican born and based singer Kenyatta Hill who leads the famous Jamaican Roots Reggae Band Culture arrived in the country on Wednesday afternoon through Chileka International Airport ahead of the group’s much anticipated two live performances slated for this weekend.
The group is expected to hold its first show on Friday 2nd June in the Commercial City of Blantyre and at Mibawa multi-purpose hall to be precise.
They will later travel to the central region where they will perform at the Civo Stadium the following day.
At all the venues, the band will be supported by Skeffa Chimoto and his Real Sounds Band, Lambani Dube, Nepman, Sam Smak and Malawi’s number one reggae group Black Missionaries accompanied by Anthony Makondetsa.
The Jamaican Hill and his entire band will be performing for the first time ever this in Malawi courtesy of Impakt Events, an event organizing and
promotion agency whose Director is veteran and evergreen musician Sir Lucious Banda famously called Soldier in the musical cycles.
He took over the mantle to lead Culture group which is described to be one of the best and successful reggae groups in the world following the death of his father Joseph Hill who founded the band in 1976.
Hill senior died on 19th August 2006 after collapsing following a live performance in Berlin.
